Losing a tooth isn’t just a dental problem. It changes how you eat, how you speak, and how comfortable you feel smiling in photos or talking with people face-to-face.
Many patients come to Bright Smile Dental after years of dealing with a gap in their smile. Some have tried dentures or a bridge and weren’t happy with the result. Others avoided smiling altogether because they were embarrassed.
"My denture slips when I eat and it's embarrassing."
"I can't eat steak or apples anymore."
"I've been hiding my smile for years."
"My dentist told me I'm losing bone where my tooth is missing."
If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone — and there's a real solution. Dental implants are the closest thing to a natural tooth that modern dentistry can offer.
A dental implant is a small titanium post that your dentist places into your jawbone where a tooth is missing. Over a few months, the bone grows around the post and holds it firmly in place — just like a natural tooth root.
Once the implant is secure, a connector piece (called an abutment) is attached. Then a custom-made crown — designed to match your other teeth — is placed on top. The end result looks, feels, and works like a real tooth. Most people who meet you after you’ve had an implant won’t even know it’s there.
A titanium root surgically placed into the jawbone where the missing tooth was.
A small connector that links the post to the final crown placed on top.
A custom tooth crafted to match the color, shape, and size of your natural smile.
Dental implants are designed to look, feel, and function like your natural teeth—for years to come.

Why do so many patients choose implants over dentures or bridges? Because implants solve the problem at the root — literally.

Bite, chew, and speak naturally. No adhesives. No worrying about your tooth slipping out at dinner.

An implant stimulates the bone the same way a natural root does, preventing the bone loss that follows a missing tooth.

With proper care, implants can last 20 years or more — often a lifetime. One of the most cost-effective options long term.

Unlike a bridge, implants don't require grinding down the teeth on either side. Your healthy teeth stay healthy.

Each crown is custom-crafted to match your surrounding teeth. Nobody will be able to tell the difference.

Patients tell us they feel like themselves again — smiling more, eating what they want, not thinking about their teeth constantly.

Most patients are surprised by how manageable the process is once we walk through it together. Here’s what to expect from start to finish:
Your first visit is a conversation. We take X-rays and review your jawbone, gum health, and overall dental situation. We’ll tell you exactly whether you’re a good candidate and what the timeline looks like for your specific case.
Using digital imaging, we map out precisely where the implant will go. This step is what separates predictable outcomes from guesswork. You’ll know what to expect before anything happens.
Once your implant is fully restored with the custom crown, we check your bite, comfort, and overall appearance to make sure everything feels natural. This final step is where your new smile comes together — strong, secure, and designed to look like it has always belonged.
Once the implant has fully integrated, we attach the abutment and place your custom crown. This is the final appointment — and the one where most patients see their smile for the first time and say “that’s it?”
Over 3 to 6 months, your bone naturally fuses around the titanium post. This is what makes the implant so stable. A temporary restoration keeps your smile looking normal during this time.

WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY
950+ five-star ratings on Google. Here’s what a few patients had to say about their dentures:
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cheung and his wonderful staff. In recent years, I have had to have two separate implants. Dr. Cheung made certain that I was 110% satisfied with the results. They even followed up with me later in the day to see how I was feeling and how well the implant was matching the rest of my teeth. You definitely won’t be disappointed.
I can not adequately express my gratitude for the care I have received from Bright Smile! Everyone in the office — from the front desk to the hygienists to the dentists and specialists — always greeted me warmly, remembering details from previous conversations no matter how much time had passed between visits, and provided me with excellent care. I felt listened to and supported in overcoming my fears as I went through the dental implant process. This staff made themselves available whenever I needed questions answered, regardless of the time of day. I truly appreciate the care and quality of the work I received and I highly recommend the Bright Smile office! I continue to receive extraordinary kindness from the staff. They are patient in explaining the procedures and are engaging at every step in my care. As for the quality of the work, I can only say that in all my years of dental chair visits, I have never before been the recipient of such highly detailed dental care.
I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I am with the dentures I got from Bright Smile Dental. I was very disappointed with the dentures I got elsewhere and came to Dr. Kim a little exasperated. He took all the time that was necessary to get me the dentures that looked the way I wanted them to look. They are comfortable to the point that I don’t even feel like I’m wearing dentures. I had a difficult crossbite and significant bone loss and was a challenging case for sure! In addition to being aesthetically pleasing and incredibly comfortable, my dentures have proven to be functional far beyond what I could have ever expected. And his support staff couldn’t be more lovable! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You need a good dentist? Go to Bright Smile!!!
My dad needed denture replacements and he had a great experience here! He shared the staff was all very friendly and the dentist (Dr. Kim) was so helpful. Thank you 🙂

We accept 90% of insurances, and we verify your benefits before your appointment so there are no surprises. If you don’t have insurance, we offer new patient discounts, an in-house dental plan that saves up to 65%, and flexible financing through CareCredit and Cherry. We’ll give you a clear, itemized estimate after your consultation — no pressure.
Most patients are surprised by how tolerable the procedure is. We use local anesthesia during the placement, and most people compare the experience to having a tooth pulled. Some soreness and swelling afterward is normal and manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers.
Most healthy adults are good candidates. The key factors are adequate jawbone density, healthy gums, and no uncontrolled conditions like unmanaged diabetes. If you’ve lost bone, a graft may restore candidacy. We’ll tell you honestly at your consultation.
Age is not a barrier. We’ve placed implants for patients well into their 70s and 80s. What matters is your overall health and bone quality, not your age.
From consultation to final crown, the process typically takes 4 to 8 months. Most of that time is the healing phase after implant placement. The actual appointments are relatively few and spaced out — you’re not in the chair for months.
We accept 90% of insurances and will review your specific benefits before your appointment. If you don’t have insurance, our in-house dental plan, new patient discounts, and CareCredit/Cherry financing mean there’s always an affordable path forward. Ask us — we’ve helped plenty of patients without insurance get the care they need.
Yes. We can place individual implants for each missing tooth, or use implant-supported bridges and dentures to replace several or all teeth more efficiently. We’ll discuss the options that make sense for your situation.
The bone underneath the missing tooth begins to shrink within months of tooth loss. Over time, this can change your facial structure, shift surrounding teeth, and make future implants more complicated. Earlier is generally better.
It’s the process of your jawbone growing around and bonding to the titanium implant post. This is what makes implants so stable and long-lasting. It takes about 3 to 6 months and happens naturally with no extra steps from you.
Not always. If the bone where the tooth was lost is still adequate, you can proceed directly to implant placement. If bone has been lost over time, a graft may be needed first to rebuild the foundation. We’ll assess this at your consultation.
Dentures sit on top of the gums and can shift or require adhesive. Implants are anchored into the bone and function like natural teeth. Implants also prevent bone loss, which dentures do not. The upfront cost is higher, but most patients who switch from dentures say they wish they’d done it sooner.
After a short healing period, yes — completely normally. Once the final crown is in place, you can eat steak, apples, corn on the cob, and anything you’ve been avoiding. That’s one of the most common things patients celebrate.
Implant failure is uncommon but possible. Risk factors include smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, poor oral hygiene, and insufficient bone. We screen carefully before proceeding and will tell you if we have concerns. Success rates for well-placed implants are above 95%.
We’re here to help you achieve a healthier, brighter smile—let’s get started today.
