Nobody wants to hear they need a tooth pulled. Whether it’s severe decay, an infection, a wisdom tooth that’s crowding your other teeth, or a tooth that’s too damaged to save, most patients come to us with the same question first: how bad is this going to hurt?
We get it, and we take pain management seriously. Our goal is to make the extraction itself comfortable and to send you home with a clear plan for a smooth recovery.
"My dentist said my wisdom teeth need to come out."
"I'm terrified it's going to hurt."
"My molar is too damaged to save."
"I need this tooth pulled today, not next week."
If any of that sounds familiar, you're in the right place. We numb the area thoroughly before we start, walk you through every step, and hold same-day openings for extractions that can't wait.
A tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that’s too damaged, decayed, infected, or crowded to keep. It’s always a last resort after other options, like a filling, crown, or root canal, aren’t enough to save the tooth.
A simple extraction removes a tooth that's fully visible above the gumline, usually with just local anesthesia. A surgical extraction is needed when a tooth hasn't fully emerged or has broken below the gumline, which is common with wisdom teeth or badly damaged molars.
Molars have larger, sometimes multiple roots, which can make extraction more involved than a smaller front tooth. We numb the area fully before starting, and most molar extractions are completed in under an hour.
Wisdom teeth often come in crooked, impacted, or without enough room, which is why they're one of the most common extractions we perform. We'll evaluate yours with X-rays and let you know if they need to come out and when.
During the procedure, you shouldn't feel pain since the area is fully numbed first. Some pressure during the extraction and mild soreness for a few days afterward is normal, and we'll send you home with clear guidance on managing it.

Here’s what a well-managed extraction does for you:

Removing a damaged or infected tooth stops the problem from spreading or getting worse.

A tooth that's decayed, infected, or overcrowding your bite can put your surrounding teeth at risk if left alone.

Whether you need an implant, bridge, or denture afterward, we'll walk you through what makes sense for your mouth and your budget.

We numb the area thoroughly and check in with you throughout the procedure, so nothing catches you off guard.

We hold same-day openings for extractions that can't wait, so you're not stuck in pain for days.

You leave with specific instructions for your recovery, so healing goes as smoothly as possible.

WHAT OUR PATIENTS SAY
950+ five-star ratings on Google. Here’s what a few patients had to say about their dentures:
Bright Smile is an amazing dental group. They got me in for an emergency appointment. Then Dr Urell did an extraction. He was amazing, and the best gentlest dentist that I have ever been too!!!!
This office truly lives by their mission statement and treating their patients like family and friends. I called around for an entire day to try to get my elderly father in to have an emergency tooth extraction. The front desk lady, Gracie, truly cared and did everything she could to help get us in the next day, before the weekend. My dad had just had open-heart surgery and was really suffering all the way around. There was a couple dentist I called that just did not care at all. It is such a wonderful thing to know that there is still some companies that truly care about customer service and their clients. I would recommend this dental office to anyone. Also, the facility is really nice and inviting. Thank You Bright Smiles for helping my dad!
Absolutely amazing!! I had an emergency tooth that needed to be pulled and they got me in immediately! Such an easy experience and so gentle!! Awesome staff!!!
By far, and I mean by far, the best experience I’ve ever had with the dental industry. Everyone was super nice, friendly, efficient, fast, explained the procedures and financial aspects perfectly and up front. Really how all business’s should strive to operate. They have gained a patient for life today. I had an emergency broken tooth and I had zero issues with any step of the process. Everyone from the front desk to the back are truly great people. Dr. Kim is fantastic and a master of the craft. Thank you everyone at Bright Smile!

During the extraction itself, you shouldn’t feel pain, since the area is fully numbed beforehand. It’s normal to feel some pressure during the procedure and some soreness for a few days afterward, which over-the-counter pain relievers usually manage well.
Molar extractions are numbed just like any other tooth, so you shouldn’t feel pain during the procedure itself. Because molars have larger roots, you may notice more soreness and swelling afterward compared to a smaller tooth, but we’ll walk you through exactly how to manage it.
Cost depends on whether it’s a simple or surgical extraction and your insurance coverage. We’ll examine your tooth and give you a clear, itemized estimate before any treatment begins, along with financing through CareCredit and Cherry if needed.
Stick to soft foods for the first few days, things like yogurt, mashed potatoes, smoothies, and soup, and avoid anything hot, crunchy, or chewy that could irritate the site. We’ll send you home with specific guidance based on your extraction.
Initial healing typically takes about one to two weeks, though the socket continues to heal fully over the following months. Most patients feel back to normal within a few days, especially with a simple extraction.
Avoid smoking, using a straw, and vigorous rinsing or spitting for at least 24 hours, since these can dislodge the blood clot that’s protecting the socket. We’ll also go over any specific restrictions based on your case, like alcohol or strenuous exercise.
It can be. Severe pain, swelling, or an infection that needs a tooth removed right away are treated as emergencies, and we hold same-day openings for exactly that. A planned extraction, like for a wisdom tooth, is usually scheduled in advance instead.
In some cases, yes. Depending on the tooth, the amount of bone present, and your overall health, we may be able to place an implant the same day a tooth is removed. We’ll evaluate your case and let you know honestly whether that timeline makes sense for you.
We’re here to walk you through every step and get you back to feeling normal — let’s get started.
